A gift within the limit
One parcel worth $120, weighing 2 kg. Nothing else sent to this person this month.
Every parcel to Uzbekistan goes through customs. Most are cleared without any action from you or the recipient. Here is what you need to know to avoid delays and unexpected costs. The figures on this page come from our customs rules table, with the date each rule starts.
These are estimates, not legal advice. Customs make the final decision, and the recipient pays any duty in Uzbekistan.
Every figure comes from a dated rule with its source. A new rule switches on by itself on its start date.
| Rule | Valid from | Duty-free limit | Duty on the excess | Minimum | Max per parcel | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| In force now | 1 May 2025 | $200 per recipient per month | 30% of the part above the limit | $3 per kg | 30 kg | Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 244 of 19 April 2025 (lex.uz) |
| Starts 1 January 2027 | 1 January 2027 | $200 per recipient per month | 20% of the part above the limit | $2 per kg | 30 kg | Presidential decree of 27 August 2026, as reported by gazeta.uz |
Duty-free limit for courier parcels to one person: $200 per calendar month, counted across all parcels, shops and carriers. Only the part above the limit is taxed, at 30% of its value, minimum $3 per kg. Since 8 February 2026 (Resolution No. 700) the recipient may get a notice on my.gov.uz, and a high-risk parcel must be confirmed within 10 days. The duty rate is taken from press reports (gazeta.uz, 2 September 2026). This is an estimate, not legal advice.
Announced change: from 1 January 2027 the payment on the part above the $200 monthly limit drops to 20%, minimum $2 per kg. The monthly limit itself stays the same. We could not read the decree on lex.uz yet, so this rule is based on a press report.

One parcel worth $260, weighing 3 kg. Nothing else sent to this person this month.
$150 already declared this month, then a parcel worth $100, weighing 12 kg.
When customs register a parcel, the recipient gets a notice on my.gov.uz or in the E-TIJORAT customs app. For most parcels, nothing needs to be done.
If customs mark a parcel as high-risk, the recipient must confirm it within 10 days, or it counts as refused and is sent back. Confirming means “this parcel is mine; count it towards my monthly limit”. If confirmation is needed, we message both you and the recipient.
Only if customs ask. We message both of you when it’s needed.
PINFL (JSHSHIR in Uzbek) is a 14-digit personal number that every citizen of Uzbekistan has. Customs use it to count the monthly limit.
You can find it on the back of the ID card, on the photo page of the biometric passport, or in the recipient’s my.gov.uz profile. We ask only for the number, never for a photo of the document.
A phone brought into Uzbekistan works on local mobile networks only after its IMEI is registered. The recipient registers it on uzimei.uz or through my.gov.uz and pays a registration fee. The fee goes up after the first month, so it is best to register soon after the parcel arrives.
Declare each phone as a separate item, with its make and model.

Each recipient can receive goods worth up to $200 per calendar month by courier without paying duty. The limit is per person, not per parcel: all courier parcels to the same person in the same month are added together, whichever company sends them. It starts again on the 1st of each month.
If you send to several family members, each of them has their own limit.
If the month’s total goes over $200, duty is charged only on the part above the limit: 30% of that amount, but at least $3 per kg of the parcel.
From 1 January 2027, the rate goes down to 20%, with a minimum of $2 per kg. Our calculator uses the rule that applies when your parcel arrives. It is an estimate: customs make the final decision, and the recipient pays any duty.
Goods for your family’s own use are personal, even when they are gifts. Customs may treat a parcel as commercial if it has 6 or more identical items, goods that do not suit the recipient’s age, or the same goods sent again and again.
Commercial goods need full import clearance. See our Commercial shipping page.
Uzbekistan lets each person receive goods worth up to $200 per calendar month by international courier without paying customs duty. The limit belongs to the recipient, not the parcel: customs uses their PINFL to add up everything sent to them that month, from all senders and all delivery companies.
What counts is the value of the goods in the declaration. If the recipient also orders through other services, check with them how much of this month's allowance is left.
The parcel is still delivered, but customs charges a single customs payment on the part above $200: 30% of the excess, and at least $3 per kg. From 1 January 2027 this changes to 20%, and at least $2 per kg.
The recipient pays the duty in Uzbekistan before the parcel is released; we'll tell you the exact amount and how to pay. The calculator on the Customs page gives you an estimate in advance. If the gifts are for different family members, declare each parcel to its real recipient.
PINFL (JShShIR) is the recipient's 14-digit personal identification number. It's printed in the Uzbek biometric passport, on the photo page as “Personal No.”, and on the ID card.
Uzbek customs requires it for every courier parcel, together with the passport series and number. That's how the monthly duty-free allowance is counted and how the recipient gets the notice on my.gov.uz. We don't need scans. We use these details only for the customs declaration, and share them with no one except customs and our delivery partner.
Under Uzbekistan's current customs procedure, the recipient automatically gets a notice about each incoming parcel on my.gov.uz or in the customs app E-TIJORAT. For most parcels nothing needs to be done. But if the customs risk system selects a parcel, the recipient must confirm it within 10 calendar days: that it's really theirs and that it may use their monthly allowance.
If it isn't confirmed in time, customs treats the parcel as refused and it's returned. When this happens, the tracking status changes to “Recipient must confirm” with the deadline, and we message you and the recipient straight away.
The declaration is filled in online for each parcel and takes a few minutes: the recipient's name, passport details, PINFL, phone and address, then every item with its quantity and value in US dollars, and the purpose (gift or personal use). Please complete it before the drop-off cut-off, or the parcel will wait for the next flight.
Declare the real market value, even for gifts; for used items, give a fair second-hand value. If the value looks too low, customs can set its own value, hold the parcel or fine the recipient.
Customs can hold a parcel for several reasons: duty is payable because the monthly limit was exceeded, documents are requested, an inspection is scheduled, customs isn't sure the goods are for personal use, or the recipient needs to confirm the parcel on my.gov.uz.
The tracking page shows the reason and what to do. Usually customs needs one thing from you or the recipient, such as a receipt, a photo or a payment, and releases the parcel within a few working days of getting it. We'll message you as soon as anything is needed.
No personal limit applies to you or to anyone in Uzbekistan: donations travel together as charity cargo addressed to the organisation, which provides its own documents to customs. That’s why we don’t ask for a recipient’s passport or PINFL.
Before the flight you can cancel at any time. You can collect the parcel from the hub, or we can post it back to you at the UK carrier's price. If you've already paid, we refund the shipping charge.
After the flight, a parcel can only come back through customs. That happens if the recipient refuses it, doesn't confirm it on my.gov.uz in time, or it contains something that isn't allowed. Returns take several weeks and the return trip is charged separately, so please double-check the recipient's details and the contents before you send.
